DO NOT log into the race server as an individual driver on race day. The only driver for each team who should be on the server before the race, is the driver who will qualify the car. We only have so many slots on the server and an individual driver may take up a team's slot or car number. We DO NOT want to keep resetting the server because people are not paying attention to what they're doing. Practice only with your team's name and number.

Track Specific Details/Issues
Be aware of how you need to exit pit lane in order not to receive a black flag (See VIDEO). As always, be respectful of other cars. Blend in ONLY when it is safe to do so by staying well to the right on exit. Do not ruin your team's, or another team's race, by pulling out in front of traffic whether in coming out of the pits, or coming back onto the racing surface after an incident.
Faster cars will need to be as patient as possible through the tighter sections and expect that you will likely lose a few seconds waiting for a better passing opportunity - that's a lot better than tossing the car into the hedges. Slower cars should be mindful of this and be courteous where possible. Also, for this race, on the Mulsanne straight, slower cars should stay to the left.
Please use your autochat to signal pit entry if someone is close to you as you are getting ready to pit.
Lastly, the rules will be relaxed in regards to always having 2 tires on the tarmac/pavement/racing surface. Unlike Daytona where putting tires off in the chicane would cause a
dust storm hazard with windshield buildup at the busstop, Brendan has made the 'red-brown tarmac' areas so that they would not have this issue and still be realistic. Plus, in real life, the chicane does take some abuse - especially the Ford Chicanes (see track map below to see where I am talking about).
http://www.oatas.net/multimedia/Lemans2006.pdf
So basically, you guys will be able to consider the rumble strips AS part of the tarmac/pavement/racing surface for this race ONLY. Race Control is aware of this.
HOWEVER:
This does not mean that you can put 4 tires entirely over to the side of the rumble strips. Race Control will be watching for this in both the race and in qualifying. Qualifying will be looking at in NRTV to ensure compliance for this rule. They will also be making sure no one completely goes straight through the chicanes in either qualifying or the race!
Safety
We will be starting the race Single File Staggered to assist in eliminating the first lap incidents. You MUST start with a minimum of a .5 - 1 second gap to the driver in front of you . If a driver is too close at the start, or causing problems, we may consider restarting the race and making that driver start in the pits. No pass in the first few hours is going to win the race for you.
Race Control
If you have black flag problems, have problems with an erratic driver, or need to ask an official a question, Race Control will be logged in with numbers ranging from 090-099. You will see them as Race Control. Do not take care of a problem on your own. Either use Teamspeak to have a teammate talk to Race Control or at the next pit stop, use the private message feature in GTP to send a message to one of the officials by going to the chat screen and whispering to that official. DO NOT SEND MESSAGE IN OPEN CHAT OR YOUR TEAM COULD GET BLACK FLAGGED.
Flaming
No flaming, obscene, or inappropriate language will be tolerated. We will not warn you, your team will be ejected from the event and may be expelled from future events.
Penalties
If your team is caught breaking any of the rules stated here, the Rules page on the website, or driving erratically, there are 3 steps that you can be assured will happen:
a) Verbal Warning: via a whisper from an official. You may continue racing without interruption.
b) Black Flag: You will receive a black-flag & get a "talking to" while you are in your pit stall. Expect it to be a long talking to in which you will not be allowed to leave your pit stall
until the discussion is completed. (It may be wise to complete a driver change soon).
c) Ejection: If things don't get corrected, your team will be ejected from the server. No
discussions, no warnings, just ejected.
